For those reading our summer book The Everyday Ayurveda Guide to Self Care, I'm suggesting moving forward to Part Two: The Physical Body (pages 38-59). Here are some questions to consider after reading:
-What is the definition of "dhatus"?
-How many dhatus exist? What are the different dhatus? Why is it important to understand the dhatus?
-What are the superficial dhatus? What are the deeper dhatus?
-What are the elements of each dhatus? Do you feel you have a strength or deficiency in a particular dhatus? How might you heal a weakness in one of the dhatus?
-How does Ayurveda discuss the channel system? Srotamsi and srotas?
-What are the channels for prana, elimination, tissue layers, and mind?
-What is agni and why is it so important?
-How do the five elements work with agni?
-What are the four kinds of agni? Do you notice you experience one regularly? When is agni the strongest and when is it slow?
-What is ama? Signs of ama?
-How can one use food and routine to maintain healthy digestion? Why is this important, physically, mentally/emotionally and spiritually?
-What is deepana and pachana?
